Welcome to Short Pump

We can remember when Short Pump was mostly fields! That began to change dramatically in the early 2000s with the development of Short Pump Town Center, which helped kick off a wave of growth that continued westward along the Broad Street corridor. Today, it’s hard to imagine this bustling part of Henrico looking quite so different just a few decades ago.

If convenience is high on your wish list, Short Pump is hard to beat. It has become one of the Richmond area’s biggest hubs for shopping, dining, and everyday amenities. Short Pump Town Center anchors the area, but you’ll find just about everything you could need nearby, from restaurants and fitness studios to grocery stores, coffee shops, and some of Richmond’s best-known retailers.

Housing options are equally varied. You’ll find established neighborhoods alongside newer construction, large single-family homes, townhomes, condos, and communities with amenities like pools, clubhouses, playgrounds, and walking paths. Compared with neighborhoods closer to the city, Short Pump also offers more opportunities for newer homes, larger floor plans, and communities designed around modern-day living.

Short Pump is also incredibly accessible. Interstate 64 makes it easy to head east toward downtown Richmond or west toward Charlottesville, while Broad Street connects you straight back through the West End. If your priorities include newer home options, neighborhood amenities, and having just about everything you need within a few minutes of home, Short Pump is absolutely worth exploring.
